Pennsylvania state troopers tried to stop a black Acura TL last Wednesday for "violating traffic laws" on I-95 and Veterans Highway (Route 413) in Bristol Township when the driver -- identified as Shiree John Wilson 34, of Philadelphia -- sped up, authorities told the news outlet.

The Acura hit another vehicle head-on during the pursuit. Wilson and his passenger fled the crash site, a trooper following on foot close behind. The trooper apparently fired a taser missing the suspects.

Wilson then jumped into Silver Lake and began swimming away from shore, then returning to land where he failed to follow police orders and had to be placed on the ground for his arrest, state police sad.

EMS transferred Wilson to Lower Bucks Hospital where they found he suffered no injuries, state police said. He was also allegedly found without a driver's license, state police said.

District Judge Kevin Wagner arraigned Wilson with charges of fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, accidents involving injury while not licensed, accident involving damage to attended vehicle, and additional traffic offenses, according to court records.

Wilson was unable to post 10 percent of his $75,000 bail and was subsequently sent to Bucks County Jail.

Court records show no indication of the passenger being charged.

Wilson's preliminary hearing date is set for 2 p.m. on Feb. 9 before Judge Wagner.
